Note: This is a hidden page that students cannot see. This page aims to inform instructors of the course structure and resources available. Instructors are encouraged to add to and modify this page to assist in assigning duties for the administration and facilitation of this course. Please consider adding task lists for those who support your course management (ex: TA, Course Coordinator, Instructional Designer).

Course Structure: Modules

We use the term "modules" instead of "weeks" to be consistent with Canvas nomenclature. Modules also provide flexibility for variables such as the number of topics a course covers, the amount of time required to cover each topic, and term start and end dates.

All course materials are organized in modules so that students must access them in a certain order. For example, students are guided to read and watch learning content before navigating to the associated assignments.

This course is divided into 7 modules because ASU Online courses are typically 7 weeks, but you may add or remove modules according to your desired course structure. Your modules may cover more or less than a week.

Summer Course Structure

The following are suggestions on how to condense this course into 6 weeks:

  • (Example) Combine modules 6 & 7, so that there are only 6 modules.

Virtual Office Hours Setup

Instructors are expected to hold virtual office hours during the course. Instructors can schedule them ahead of time or can offer by appointment. It is recommended that the office hours are optional for students and therefore, students should not be graded on their attendance.

Zoom or the Conferences tool in Canvas can be used to hold office hours. Make sure to update the Virtual Office Hours page
