All ASU Online students have access to 24/7 tutoring through Tutor.com. Review the information on this page for details on how you can access Tutor.com, tutoring limits, scheduling considerations, and subject availability.
Tutoring through Tutor.com covers academic support and coaching, coursework help, study assistance, test prep, writing support, and subject tutoring across numerous areas like math, science, business, and English.
There are three (3) ways that online students can access Tutor.com:
In Canvas: Click 24/7 Tutoring link in Canvas course navigation menu.
In My ASU: Click Tutoring on My ASU under "Academic Support Team."
On the ASU Online Current Students website: Click the Tutoring category on the Student Services tab of the Current Students site, and then click Learn More.
Important Note: Only current ASU Online students can access the link into Tutor.com; all others will get an error message.
Keep in mind that all ASU Online students still have access to Academic Support Networks:
Online students receive three (3) free tutoring hours per session, and these will automatically refresh at the start of every A/B session.
If you would like to request additional time, please click "Connect with a Tutor Now" at the top of your Tutor.com home page, and review the information in the blue box underneath the number of minutes you have left. This blue box specifies the process for requesting additional tutoring time.
As an online student, you will have 24/7 access to tutoring through Tutor.com while you have tutoring time remaining. However, please note that Tutor.com is unavailable over ASU's Winter Break.
Online students have support for 250+ subjects!
Tutor.com offers multiple options:
Drop-in tutoring
Pre-scheduled appointments
Drop-off paper review
Recorded sessions
You can use the drop-in option at any time to get one-on-one subject-area tutoring, without having to schedule an appointment.
For pre-scheduled tutoring appointments, tutors have 24 hours to approve or deny an appointment, so make sure you only use this option if you are booking 24+ hours in advance.
Note: Make sure to look for the confirmation email if you are pre-scheduling an appointment.
When you use the drop-off paper service, you will receive feedback in 12 hours or less (depending on the amount of time a tutor spends reviewing the paper, up to 50 minutes might be deducted, but the average amount of time required is 30 minutes).
Note: Your tutor will not make changes to your paper directly; they will provide comments to help guide your own revisions.
All tutoring sessions are recorded, and you can go back and review the transcripts and/or watch them for up to a year.
You can "favorite" tutors to make them easier to find if you wish to schedule a session with them, or to increase your chances of working with them again in the future.
If you are a Spanish speaker (ESL), there is an option to change your Tutor.com webpage to be completely in Spanish.
In addition to a digital whiteboard, Tutor.com provides numerous interactive tools and "templates" (e.g., graphing calculator, code editor, etc.), which can be used during your tutoring sessions.
